Celebrated Ghanaian highlife musician, Obuoba J.A. Kwabena Adofo has called on upcoming musicians to write good music that will sustain in the industry forever.
Obuoba J.A Adofo known in showbiz as Black Chinese stated that musicians in Ghana must learn how to compose inspirational, attractive and sensible music.
According to the Leader of the City Boys Band of Ghana, ‘’the younger folks now just say anything and they don’t care perhaps because they have no responsibilities”.
The legendary musician, who has 115 albums to his credit and has been in the music industry for over 40 years, said it is high time upcoming artists in Ghana compose matured and sensible songs for their targeted audience.
Adofo is described as one of Ghana’s world acclaimed highlife musicians. He has won several awards and performed on numerous world stages. He also taught some USA university students how to play the guitar in 2004.
Black Chinese who is lonely as at now said he is afraid to die any time soon because of the death of his three colleagues, Akwasi Ampofo Agyei, Alex Konadu and recently Dr. Paa Bobo. He noted that the love and unity that existed in the music industry has discolored following the countless entry of new artists in the industry.
Speaking exclusively to Ashh fm Entertainment Zone in Kumasi, Adofo advised the current crop of young Ghanaian musicians to research well and come clean with their lyrics.
