Ghanaian actress, Xandy Kamel and late father, Hon. Henry Ford Kofi Kamel were honoured on Saturday, September 13 at the first edition of Buem Excellence Awards. The event which happened at the Togbe Akortia Hall, Bueman Senior High School, Jasikan in the Volta Region was to award natives of the land “Buemnites” who have helped in various ways for the development the town.
The fast rising actress was awarded for her contribution to the society as an actress and CEO of Kamel for Hope Foundation. The late Regional Minister and MP for Buem Constituency, Hon Henry Ford Kofi Kamel was a given special merit award.
Present at the event were personalities like, National Vice Secretary, National Democratic Congress, Kofi Adams, Headmaster, Bueman Senior High School, Mr. Gordon Kofi and others.
The event hosted by Essel of celebrity TV on GH One witnessed entertaining performances from Ogbele Cultural Group and other poetry recitals.
