Ahead of her upcoming concert at the Kampnagel in Hamburg on the 3rd October, Wiyaala & The Djimba World Band will do a live show on Saturday, 19th September at +233 Jazz Bar & Grill, Accra’s leading live music venue.
The energetic Upper West singer is promising to put on a pulsating and exhilarating live performance. Wiyaala says she has been working with the Djimba World Band for nearly two years and Saturday’s concert will be the climax to the band’s hard work.
“We have designed a 3 hour setlist that has something for everyone. Besides my own hits and new songs, we will be covering old school hits from the African and American continents, Ghanaian Hip Life and Reggae favorites, but not the usual ones. This show is all about having fun and patrons should expect the unexpected”.
The Djimba World Band is Wiyaala’s official band and is made up with talented young musicians who have performed with notable Ghanaian acts such as Daddy Lumba and Kwame Yeboah.
Meanwhile, Wiyaala’s career appears to going from strength to strength as besides her performances on international festival stages in Canada, Holland and Germany this year, she has recently garnered four nominations at the All Africa Music Awards (Afrima.org) and a nomination for “Best Individual Style” at the Glitz Africa Style Awards 2015.
