Ghanaian comedian and emcee, Derrick Kobbina Bonney has described people who insulted him for wiping Chief Executive Officer of EIB Network, Bola Ray’s shoes as Satan.
DKB who was the emcee for the 2015 Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) wiped Bola’s shoes on stage – an act some people criticized.
Reacting to the comments on Radio Univers’ mid-morning, Brunch2Lunch, DKB told show host, Abrantepa that he does not regret doing so because Bola Ray has contributed to his career.
“He gave me the first opportunity to perform stand-up comedy on TV when he was hosting Music Music. He also gave me my first show to properly emcee. So DKB that you see as a stand-up comedian, as an emcee all came from the contributing efforts of Bola Ray. He deserves it. I wish I could even wash his singlet and iron his bedsheet,” DKB said.
He added: “They don’t have heroes in their lives. And those people are very ungrateful. If you hear anybody say that thing about me, you should not help such a person because no matter the help, he or she will in no way honour you in any capacity. These people kill society. For three years, Bola Ray gave me the opportunity to host Empire Entertainment shows on Legon Campus while I was in school. I could have flopped the show but he believed in me. And if I’m honouring such a person, you have a problem? You are Satan.”
