The Office of the Ashanti Regional Ghana Actors Guild says its outfit is unaware of the sideline of Kumawood kingpin, Alexander Kofi Adu known i showbiz as Agya Koo.
Alexander Kofi Adu has not been given major roles for the past two and half years by the film producers in Ghana, Zionfelix.com has noticed.
The Film Producers Association of Ghana has blacklisted the actor with reasons yet to be disclosed to the public but Zionfelix.com can confirm that producers met and decided to ostracize the actor for his conducts.
According to the producers, the actor has been displaying some egocentric, arrogance, pompousness and insubordinate attitude towards them and that has caused his demise in the industry.
The producers claimed that, for the past four years, the actor has been dictating for them when they go on set to shoot movie, he decides persons that he wants to shoot the movie with which to them is very unfair and disrespectful.
“Can you imagine he comes on set and tells us he has important things to attend to so he has to leave when he has not finished shooting his part? We keep begging him all the time to finish his scenes before he leaves but he mostly leave saying he has important things to attend to”
Agya Koo on a telephone interview on Ash FM, a Kumasi-based radio station confirmed that indeed, the producers have sidelined him but they have given him no reason.
He said the producers have also cautioned distributors and marketers not to accept or market movies that he (Agya Koo) has featured in.
‘’ They have forgotten that I made the local movies and the producers popular, I leave everything in the hands of God’’ he said
The vice president of the Ashanti Regional chapter of the Ghana Actors Guild, Bernard Aduse-Poku known in showbiz as Koo Musuo commenting on this issue on Ashh fm Entertainment Zone, said its unfortunate that Agya Koo is using the media to champion his grievances.
‘’He has not reported or lodged any complain to the guild so we are unaware of this issue and in any case at the time that the producers were using him, did he complain that the producers are using him too much so the guild should intervene?” he asked
“Agya koo should understand that acting is seasonal, when your time is due for others to take over, nothing can change it ‘’” he added.
Mr. Aduse-Poku said the producers have communicated to them that they have blacklisted Agya Koo but they are still waiting for Agya Koo to lodge an official complain to the guild.
