Google has released the ten most searched Ghanaian musicians in the year 2014. One surprising name which made its way into the list is ‘JAY”. Which artiste in Ghana is called Jay? 10. Edem

Rapper Edem  is the last on the list of the ten most searched Ghanaian musicians. Edem got engaged to his girlfriend in this year, released an album and again, his photos, videos and events all played a roll for his position in this list. People were busily searching for these things about him on Google.

9. R2bees

Many rushed online to search about R2bees. The group which is made up of Mugeez and Paedae were the ninth most searched musicians in Ghana for the year 2014. The Tema-based duo were the only group which made it to the top ten list. Mugeez somewhere in the year launched his shoe line. This and many other activities of the group contributed for their search.

8. Tiffany

Ghanaian female star Tiffany in this year heard the worst news ever in her career as a musician. Her sextape was released by her baby daddy. This unfortunate incident made all who heard about it Google about her. The sextape by the musician went viral so those who did not get the chance of watching it wanted to have a glimpse of it. Others also went online to search for Tiffany so as to know who she is, her music, videos, pictures and other things. Tiffany also became the most searched female Ghanaian musician as none of the ladies made it to the list of ten most searched Ghanaian musicians for this year.

7. Kwabena Kwabena

The lady’s man, George Kwabena Adu due to the good music he has been releasing over the years made people go online to search more about him. The musician was not in the news for bad reason but people kept searching about him. He held the second edition of his ‘Save A Life’ concert within this year. Some romantic pictures of the musician which went viral also pushed him up to the seventh position of the list. Don’t be surprised if most of the searches were from the ladies – that does not mean it is the case because google did not give the gender that searched most about Kwabena Kwabena.

6. Samini

Dancehall artiste Samini is the sixth most searched Ghanaian musician on Google. The boss of HighGrade Family in the year 2014 released good songs which made people hijack the internet to download them. He was also in the news for both good and bad reasons. As usual, many who want to know the latest about Samini will go on the internet and search about him. Google names Samini as the sixth most searched Ghanaian musician for the year 2014.

5. E.L

Rapper Elorm Adablah according to the search engine, Google is the fifth most searched Ghanaian musician, he follows dancehall artiste Smaini. E.L in this year released hit songs as he has been doing for the past years which shot his search up to the fifth position. ‘L’ as he is affectionately called was not in the news for bad reasons but many went on Google search engine to find out what exactly is happening to him.

4. Jay

This is where the confusion sets in. Which Ghanaian artiste is called Jay? Well according to Google, Jay represents Jay Z and Stay Jay. Many Ghanaians were online searching about Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce, Jay-Z and Solange and also Stay Jay. The search word ‘Jay’ was the fourth most searched artiste in Ghana.

3. Guru

Most of the searches about Guru were about news headlines, music, and videos. Guru in this year released many hit songs and people who heard the songs but did not have them went on Google, typed Guru and had their results. All these made Guru jump to the third position surpassing many artistes.

2. Shatta Wale

If there is any Ghanaian artiste who was most talked about in this year, then it is Shatta Wale. The musician within this year was always in the news. Shatta Wale aside news publications released countless songs. Fans and enemies of the musician were on Google fishing for the latest about Wale. According to Google, his hit songs ‘Dancehall Commando’ which features Sarkodie and other hit songs boosted his search.

Obviously Sarkodie will be the most searched Ghanaian musician. The rapper for some years has been releasing good songs. Sarkodie has also been in the news for the good and the bad. He has also been getting nominations for both local and international wards which have all been on his advantage. Aside news, Sarkodie’s songs and music videos made people search about him
