IMG_3448Despite the poor attendance at the recently held F14 concert on Val’s Day at the Accra International Conference Center, Ghanaian comedian DKB did not disappoint the few who made it to the event.

He took the event “world cup” and performed like he was in front of a crow gathered at the Sports Stadium. He was not discouraged by the crowd but went ahead to entertain them as he would’ve if the place was full.

I hope you remember Kinto, the alleged Ghanaian guy who was brutally beaten few days ago at Nima? Yes, DKB used him as a case study at last Saturday’s concert. Watch the video below to hear the exact words of the comedian about Kinto.

Kwame Nkrumah Is The Worst Thing That Ever Happened To Ghana After Rawlings – Gemini

geminiGhanaian rapper Gemini Orleans has named Ghana’s first president as “the worst thing that ever happened to Ghana after Jerry John Rawlings”. The rapper continued that the sitting president, His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama is the president to follow the list. According to him, it is a fact and it cannot be disputed.

Explaining why Kwame Nkrumah is the worst thing that ever happened to Ghana after Rawlings, he said

Nkrumah just implemented what had been planned out by JB Danquah and the other four of the Big six with the British colony before he joined them from the States. He was the perfect example of Judas. He messed up the intelligent plan of the UGCC with his selfish interest in attempt to be president of Africa (which is dumb to me). Too bad he had to die on exile.
Secondly,Jerry the worst for numerous reasons for example he pronounced that everyman was only entitled to owning one house, fast forward today he has 3 houses we know of and probably others we know not of but then he forcefully seized the rich at the time’s assets. He also brought back the horrible act of preventive detention introduced by Nkrumah which created an era where people that spoke the truth against his gov’t went missing till date. As for the incumbent…no comment just ask about him. I’m not speaking without facts and I’m not interested in partisan politicking,I just state the #PureFacts I could educate you on a lot you don’t know but I will when necessary!

a-plusAfter Mzbel told Stacy Amoateng on Restoration TV show that she doesn’t believe in Jesus Christ because her research proves that he is fake, Ghanaians have talked a lot about her and the issue. The latest popular Ghanaian to disclose his doubts in a section of the Holy Bible is musician A-Plus.

READ: Jesus Christ Is Fake – Mzbel

A-Plus says there is no iota of truth in the Adam and Eve story written in the bible. According to him, he doesn’t believe in it. He further described it as Kweku Ananse Story Expressing his view on Facebook Monday evening, he wrote

I don’t have a problem what people believe and what they don’t. I for instance don’t believe in Adam and Eve. That story is not true. ‪#‎KwekuAnanseStories

How KNUST Students Ended Up Fingering Me – Mzbel Narrates

IMG_3072It has emerged the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology paid female singer Mzbel GHc 50,000 for the attack on her by some students of the school during a 2005 performance.

The singer has for the first time in 10 years revealed she received the sum as compensation, and also to prevent her from pressing for damages at the law courts.

“It was GHc 50,000,” she told Stacy Amoateng on last weekend’s edition of the Restoration With Stacy personality talk show. Real name Belinda Nana Akua Amoah, she was molested by a group of students of the university who had called for her to continue performing when she was done with her booked, stage time.

“When my crew and I were leaving the auditorium, some of the students came up to me, saying they wanted to take pictures with me. While we were at it, others came from nowhere to shake my hands,” she narrated (in January 2006) the scenes that led to her October, 2005 ordeal.

“Unfortunately, that exit was like a big window through which I had to jump. Just when I was about to jump, someone grabbed hold of my legs and within a twinkle of an eye, there were a whole mob of students pulling my legs.”

Her trousers and underpant were pulled down in the process. The mob took advantage of her nakedness and started fingering her.“They revealed everything by pulling my pants and trousers down to my knee”.

She subsequently sued the university, claiming damages to the tune of ¢600 million (now GHc 60, 000).

Filed at an Accra High Court on Wednesday January 18, 2006, and led by her then manager and now ex convict Isaac Abeidu Aidoo, a.k.a ‘Goodies’, it had KNUST as first defendant: The Vice Chancellor as second defendants, and the college of Art as third defendant.

The fourth, fifth and sixth defendants were Alex Dapaah, Aaron Edusah Poku and Theodore Djokoto all students of the university at the time.

In a statement of claim, the plaintiffs said “that by a performance contract entered with them and an invitation by the 2nd defendant to perform and to enable them celebrate their Art Society week to be climaxed by a live musical performance, the 1st plaintiff, Mzbel amongst other musical artistes and performers were scheduled and invited to perform on the night of October 1, 2005 at the KNUST campus, Kumasi.

“The plaintiffs shall contend that the arrangement, safety and security of the venue and that of artistes before during and after the live performance, devolved absolutely on the 1st and 2nd defendants. By this invitation and performance contract executed, any failures or omissions on their part shall result in a vicarious liability to them.”

“The plaintiffs say that while the 1st plaintiff was performing live on stage reserved for the artistes, without any invitation, provocation and permission, a number of male students invaded the stage and in their frenzy without any provocation violently assaulted the 1st plaintiff which assault can best be described as sexual by all imagination.”

The statement of claim further said Dapaah, Poku and Djokoto inserted their fingers into her private part, and also indiscriminately fondled her breast. She sustained bruises on her face and body, causing her excruciating pains, the statement added.

The claim also called for sanctions to be imposed on Alex Dapaah, Aaron Edusah Poku and Theodore Djokoto, and payment of fees to Mzbel and Goodies Productions’ lawyers.

A report by a student fact-finding committee later sought to punch holes in her claims. Among other things they suggested Mzbel and her three dancers made lewd gestures that may have inspired the students’ bad behaviour.

She shot down the suggestions.

“It had nothing to do with the way I was dressed. Even on that night when I performed, I was not wearing any extraordinary clothes. I was in a pair of trousers and a jacket.”

It’s only been a few days since Norman (or Normie Jenner) decided to join the popular social media world of photo-sharing and double-tapping, but with a famous mama like Kylie, it didn’t take long for him to break the six figure follower count.

Asantewaa - P3ch3m (Prod By Danny Beatz)…(Squeeze tight) P3ch3m, p3ch3m! I know you love it p3ch3m,
wey I dey feel the p3ch3m mmm mp3ch3m mp3ch3m,
(It’s opened 2x)T3sem t3sem omo fru bra na ma t3semu (You should climb up; I’ve opened it)
so me mu ma me nkeka mu mmmm nkekamu nkekamu, (Hold me to scream)
I go wine and go down ey, feeling this song ey
… Go down and watch mi waist shaking that thing you want to taste
No no no no no no no way shuluwa p3ch3m (Agyei, squeeze tight) mmmhmm all day
Stay calm and watch mi waist, shaking that thing you want to taste…

The above italized words are lyrics of a song by Asantewaa of the Breeze group on Vodafone Icons’ Divas Edition titled, ‘P3ch3m’ (a Fante word which means squeeze tight) which was released barely a day ago.
Produced by Danny Beatz, ‘P3ch3m’ is recorded on an African Contemporary/ Afro-Pop rhythm and it sounds nothing like the usual songs including ‘Konko’, ‘Chinin Chiga’ and ‘Me bowo tuo’ the songstress has released .
Displaying versatility on the just-released song; I think that she can do better without going all profane in probably her next songs although profanity is not new to the music world.
Following the generation’s interest in such music kind; the profanity level in the Ghanaian music industry seems to be rather rising, yet since it is the trending course in recent times; the youth thrill and hail to such songs containing profane and vulgar content.
Profanity indeed is nothing new to music enthusiasts when reference are made to the reigning times of Highlife music through to our current generation; and Ace Highlifer, AB Crentsil’s ‘Moses’ cannot be out of the records likewise, Kwabena Kwabena’s ‘Adult music’ which featured Samini.
Deep thoughts into the lyrics of the biblical-based song, ‘Moses’ revealed a clear sense of profanity yet took over the airwaves likewise ‘Adult music’, which took over the airwaves in a grand style; and now Asantewaa’s ‘P3ch3m’.

Over the weekend, the actress cum producer, Juliet Ibrahim flew the director of Photography, Sammy Tugar to South Africa to shoot few scenes which may be tagged as irrelevant by unprofessional filmmakers. Prior to the shoot, her production manager/location manager, Moses Nene Portuphy was also flown to South Africa to scout for the locations. Details of the television series coming soon…

KOD Pops Up In KKD Rape Saga

$
0
0

The Kaneshie District Magistrate Court in Accra yesterday committed beleaguered showbiz icon, Kwasi Kyei Darkwah aka KKD, for trial at the High Court after the prosecutor had established that there were enough grounds to secure conviction.

The state prosecutor, Malike Woanya, who read the bill of indictment narrating the series of events before and after the alleged rape incident had told the court that the prosecution was sure it had enough evidence to prosecute the case.

She told the court, during committal proceedings, that contrary to KKD’s earlier submission that he had consensual sex with the victim, the showbiz icon forcibly had sex with his 19-year-old victim in the bathroom of the African Regent Hotel at the Airport West Residential Area.

Ms Woanya was emphatic that the accused should be committed to the High Court for trial to commence, stating that after forcibly having sex with the victim, KKD gave her wipes to clean the blood oozing out of her genital.

The prosecutor said that in the course of the sexual intercourse, the victim was crying, prompting her friend who was in the room to attempt rescuing her; but she was prevented by KOD (Kofi Okyere Darko), a radio personality, who told the girl that the victim was fine and that nothing was happening.

According to the prosecutor, KOD then increased the volume of the television or radio set or the device in the room to drown the screams of the victim who desperately needed help.

After having sex with her, the prosecutor said KKD offered her Postinor 2, ostensibly to prevent pregnancy.

When the lady was freed, she, with her cousin and another person called Kofi, went to the nearby Nyaho Hospital for medical attention before reporting the matter to the police who gave her medical form to go to a public hospital.

She subsequently went to the Police Hospital.

It was established that the victim was either a virgin or previously sexually inactive.

The trial magistrate, Mrs Adwoa Akyaamaa Ofosu, ruled in favour of the prosecution, saying, “The accused is hereby committed for trial at the High Court on 18 March, 2015.”

Lawyer Begs
The decision was taken irrespective of an earlier passionate submission advanced by Anthony Forson, counsel for KKD, for the court to reject the request by the state prosecutors to commit the accused for trial at the High Court.

Mr Forson, who was virtually begging, prayed the court to refuse the prosecution’s request because it did not have any credible evidence to go ahead with the trial, citing the letter written by Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson (the alleged rape victim) to the Attorney General (AG) to discontinue the case.

He wondered on what basis the prosecution intended to carry on with the case, when in his words, the material witness did not want to continue with the case.

Mr Forson stated that the trial in that regard was entering the realm of magic, adding, “What is happening is the persecution of the accused person.

Why is the state still committing resources to continue with the case?”

Be Bold
The lead counsel for KKD urged the judge to be bold, saying, “You must be a bold judge and say ‘this case, I shall not commit, no matter the consequences.’”

KKD, who looked rather surprised at the turn of events, earlier when offered the opportunity to say something before he was committed for trial at the High Court, declined to pass any comment.

Prior to yesterday’s proceeding, the trial had on two occasions been stalled because KKD was reportedly sick and so unable to attend court proceedings.

Susana Nyarko, who was holding brief for Anthony Forson, had told the court that the accused person was going to see a clinical psychologist because he was not in a good frame of mind.

She said that was recommended after KKD’s medical review the previous week.

Ms Nyarko, per the medical report, stated that her client had been given a week’s bed rest.

The medical report was produced by the lawyer to authenticate the claim of KKD’s poor state of health.

Charges
KKD is expected to appear before an Accra High Court for allegedly raping Ms Orleans Thompson, a 19-year-old student, in a bathroom at the African Regent Hotel, Accra, on December 27, last year.

He is said to have had carnal knowledge of the victim without her consent, even though he claimed that it was consensual sex.

It is not clear whether he used condom for the consensual sex he described as ‘fleeting pleasure’ with Ewuraffe.

Even though the lady says she wants to discontinue the case, and the accused has also apologised to her publicly, state prosecutors are bent on seeking legal redress regarding the alleged crime.

Bail
KKD was consequently granted bail by a Human Rights Court on humanitarian grounds in the sum of GH¢20,000 with two sureties, after he had been on remand at the Airport police for the offence.

The court granted the bail because counsel for the accused person filed supplementary affidavits on January 6 and further affidavits on January 8, 2015 supported by a medical report.

IMG_3448Apparently ‘surprising’ the few patrons at the second edition of Abba Investments’ F14  concert at the AICC on Val’s Day with the blame that ECG caused the absence of two  main acts, Amakye Dede and R2Bees as reported by ZionFelix.com; Comedian DKB is  claiming the ‘redeemer’ of the show.

According to him, “I carried the night on my shoulders and made sure that no matter the  disappointments on the night, the patrons including lovers would not be disappointed in me as the MC and Comedian.

“I did more than my best by making sure there were no boring moments at the event which doubled as a day for lovers; cracking them with interesting jokes that at some  point, it appeared they felt it was a comedy show,” he claimed.

On his take on the low turnout at the second edition of F14 Concert organized by Abba Investment Accra International Conference Centre; DKB said,

“I can’t really tell the reason for the low audience on the night; and I would rather want to leave it to the

organizers to state the reason.”

Adding, “but it was quite discouraging seeing only a handful of audience at the Conference Centre which was not the audience size I expected, yet I’m glad I managed to make them have fun and made them forget their wahalas.”

Furthermore He added that “I am feverishly preparing for the 3rd season of my successful comedy tour #DKBLIVE,  storming Knust “Repu” Hall week,  UCC and Central University. So all campus must watchout!  Its bigger and better now!”

The second edition of Abba Investments’ F14 Concert organized at the Accra International Conference Centre on Valentine’s Day although with the low turnout saw

performances by acts including Nana Quame, Galaxy, DKB, Jacinta, and Kaceey More, among others.
